1. DON'T MAKE IT ONLY ABOUT THE PRODUCT

When you finally launch your project, you cannot wait 'till everyone sees it right? It is so important to let everyone know that the project you've been working on for a long time is finally out!

But remember to don't make it ALL about the product, imagine posting and talking about a single product for a month, boring right? Yes, because one thing to keep in mind is that you may want to make people get passionate about your product and the story behind it, what makes it valuable and ''wantable''.

Make sure to underline and share stories, emotions, and even lifestyles. You owe your clients a great storytelling, they need and deserve it before deciding to support and back your project. Make them feel part of something and not just cold buyers of a cold product. Choose the tangential topics that your project touches and add them to your communications. It is easier to find a larger audience in this way!

2. DON'T CLOSE THE DOOR TO THE WORLD

When launching your first project you must make sure to reach many people as possible, and of course, this is not an easy task.

For sure you will have lots of friends and family ready to support you, but you're not making an innovative project only for your small circle, right? You want the world to acknowledge and support it!

(Well, of course, is not possible to cover the whole world because you may not be able to ship around the world, but at least your continent!)

One of the biggest traps you could get into is undervaluing the power of crowdfunding platforms and choosing the ''easy way''; crowdfunding is one of the best means to launch your innovative product, and it should be fully exploited for breakthrough success.

What are the main things you can do to get out of the small circle? For example, get into Facebook groups of your product's category and introduce your project, create your small community and nurture it with constant updates, once you have in mind your audience launch some Facebook ads, contact the press and influencers to spread the word!

You'll see a lot of results will come out of this strategy!

3. DON'T THINK ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN ALL THE TIME

I know what you're thinking, Mattia you're crazy. You really cannot afford to spend all of your day worrying about the campaign and trust me, there could be a lot of things to think about! In this way, you would only lose your focus and attach to every tiny-tiny detail. There's nothing worse, trust me.

Usually, my clients have their jobs and then they come back home and dedicate time to their campaigns, adjusting, fixing and modifying it. In this way it is easier to see everything objectively and not get attached too much to your original projects, because it can change and might request some revisions.

My advice is that to not stress contantly behind your campaign, just live your regular life, get distracted, shift the attention away from the project and remain pro-active and flexible, this could help reaching your funding goal and feel less stressed!

4. MONEY SHOULD'T BE YOUR FINAL GOAL

As stated above, it is better for your campaign to not make it about the money and the mere product, your crowdfunding campaign should be more than this.

Focus all of your efforts to appeal your community, make them feel part of something and be part of the journey with you. If you make it all about the money and constantly talk about it, it will only give a sense of materialism.

Make it about your heart, story and emotions. It'll be better viewing the campaign not as a financial goal that must be met, but as a daily need to attract more people support your project.
If you will describe your project with the right appealing words and spread the word, the cash will eventually flow!

5. DON'T MAKE IT PERSONAL

It is your campaign, it is your product but pay attention, it is not about you, it's about your community and fans!

Yes, because your fans will help your reach the success of your campaign, with their support and money. You should, of course, share your story and tell more about you, but at the end of the day, who you should take care of are your fans.

Involve them, give all the informations, updates or incentives, you should give them something before they back you in return, don't ask only for support, offer them an experience. Share, share, share remember it, that will not only attract your fans but also interested ones that will more likely support your campaign on a second moment.

WRAPPING IT UP

This is it for today, launching a crowdfunding campaign could be stressful, so you should be aware about the traps to avoid in order to stay focused and create a killer campaign.

Just remember how much important is the community creation and pre-launch only in this way you'll get to meet your goal.

Always remember that before launching your project you will need to analyze and prepare your pre-launch phase to launch your first product, I’ve got you covered with my crowdfunding pre-launch free e-book called ''3 steps to success on Kickstarter and Indiegogo''.
